Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. is seeking a Lead Instructional Designer to transform complex technical concepts into engaging training across SEL's products and services.

You will lead the design of instructor-led and eLearning programs for diverse audiences. Open to locations in Pullman, WA; Boise, ID; or Charlotte, NC, with a focus on adult learning theory, rapid content development, and collaboration with SMEs and creative teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in instructional design, educational technology, or related field.
• Portfolio showcasing sophisticated learning content in various formats.
• 7+ years of experience developing technical training for diverse audiences and instructors.
• Passion for learning complex topics and turning them into engaging experiences based on adult learning theories.
• Desire to be part of project teams with creative collaborators and technical partners.
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
• Mastery of PowerPoint, Word, and Articulate tools; bonus if you know Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong writing, communication, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Audit training content and propose a strategic learning path.
• Outline and storyboard a multi-day instructor-led training with SMEs.
• Create interactive eLearning content using Articulate Storyline and Rise.
• Collaborate with video producers to create animations.
• Review learner feedback and evaluation data to identify improvements.
• Partner with managers to tailor training solutions for customer needs.
• Explore and share practical ways to integrate AI, microlearning, and emerging learning technologies.
