Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. is seeking a Lead Instructional Designer to transform complex technical concepts into engaging training across SEL's products and services.

You will lead the design of instructor-led and eLearning programs for diverse audiences. Open to locations in Pullman, WA; Boise, ID; or Charlotte, NC, with a focus on adult learning theory, rapid content development, and collaboration with SMEs and creative teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in instructional design, educational technology, or related field.
• Portfolio showcasing sophisticated learning content in various formats.
• 7+ years of experience developing technical training for diverse audiences and instructors.
• Passion for learning complex topics and turning them into engaging experiences based on adult learning theories.
• Desire to be part of project teams with creative collaborators and technical partners.
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
• Mastery of PowerPoint, Word, and Articulate tools; bonus if you know Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong writing, communication, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Audit training content and propose a strategic learning path.
• Outline and storyboard a multi-day instructor-led training with SMEs.
• Create interactive eLearning content using Articulate Storyline and Rise.
• Collaborate with video producers to create animations.
• Review learner feedback and evaluation data to identify improvements.
• Partner with managers to tailor training solutions for customer needs.

Join SEL University as a full-time Lead Instructional Designer and help shape cutting-edge training programs that empower users to master SEL's advanced technologies. Our team of expert instructors and instructional designers collaborates to create courses that span foundational power system concepts to handson application of SEL products. Your work will directly support our education initiatives related to the electronic devices and software we manufacture.

Typical Day

• Auditing training content and proposing a strategic learning path that students can progress through.
• Outlining and storyboarding a multi-day instructor-led training with subject matter experts.
• Creating interactive eLearning content using Articulate Storyline and Rise.
• Collaborating with video producers to create sophisticated animations.
• Reviewing learner feedback and evaluation data to find improvement opportunities.
• Partnering with managers to propose a tailored training solution that addresses specific customer needs.

Pay Range Data - $88,400 - $132,700 annually. We set starting pay based on job-related factors such as your experience, training, knowledge, and skills. We are looking to fill this position at the Lead Instructional Designer level, and we welcome applicants with a range of experience. Depending on your background, we may consider you for a different level, with compensation aligned accordingly.
