How can you make an impact?

McGraw-Hill Education, a leading provider of digital and print educational materials, seeks a creative, innovative, and strategic Senior Instructional Designer, Health for our Health programs. You will be a key member of a collaborative team of Instructional Designers, working closely with content, product management, UX, and creative media teams. Your role involves creating robust digital tools, curricula, and learning solutions in various formats used daily by educators and students. The Senior Instructional Designer, Health, is a digital-savvy content and curriculum expert responsible for assembling high-quality content based on specific product requirements.

This is a remote position

Open to applicants authorized to work in the United States. This is a Project Status Worker (PSW) role ending on 01/15/2027.

What you will be doing:

1. Lead the instructional design team in collaborating with cross-functional teams to prototype, design, storyboard, and develop courses and digital curriculum assets (such as eBooks, interactives, simulations, games, and virtual labs).
2. Collaborate with teams to ensure product requirements, project timelines, and goals are met.
3. Identify problems and risks in content development, propose solutions, and engage stakeholders when risks arise.
4. Provide leadership on authoring tools, templates, and processes.
5. Manage internal Instructional Designers responsible for vendor and freelancer guidelines, questions, and scheduling.
6. Innovate and scale process and digital integration approaches, identifying efficiencies.
7. Work with teams to troubleshoot and follow up on technical bugs and enhancements in authoring tools and platforms.
8. Ensure accessibility and compliance, incorporating best practices during product development.

We're looking for someone with:

1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Instructional Technology, Instructional Design, or related field.
2. 3-5 years of experience in digital content development, including teaching and learning materials.
3. Experience managing multiple projects with tight deadlines and budgets.
4. Strong communication and leadership skills in cross-functional meetings.
5. Experience with authoring tools, learning management systems, and content management systems.
6. Ability to create and visualize animated and interactive content.
7. Background in educational publishing or EdTech preferred.
8. Accessibility experience preferred.
9. Background in Health preferred.
