About the Role

Our client, a provider of specialized commercial equipment, is seeking a Senior Installation & Field Support Technician to operate primarily within the Randburg, Gauteng area. This role requires a skilled professional responsible for the physical installation, setup, maintenance, and repair of complex equipment at client business locations. You will be the primary technical contact on-site, ensuring that installations are completed to the highest standards and that equipment functions optimally. The ideal candidate possesses a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, excellent diagnostic skills, and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service. This is a field-based position offering the opportunity to work hands-on with advanced technology and build strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and commission specialized commercial equipment at client sites.
• Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and preventative servicing to ensure peak equipment performance.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and operational issues, implementing effective repairs.
• Respond promptly to service requests and emergency calls to minimize client downtime.
• Provide technical guidance and training to client personnel on equipment operation and basic maintenance.
• Maintain accurate service reports, logs, and inventory of spare parts.
• Adhere to all company safety standards and site-specific protocols.
• Manage service schedules and travel arrangements efficiently.
• Liaise with the central technical support team for complex problem resolution.
• Ensure customer satisfaction through professional and efficient service delivery.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an installation technician, field service technician, or similar role, with a focus on commercial equipment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Experience with diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel regularly within the Randburg and surrounding Gauteng regions.
• Relevant technical qualification or trade certification is preferred.
