Placements24 seeks a Senior Industrial Electrician for a Randburg, Gauteng manufacturing facility. You will lead electrical projects, diagnose faults, and maintain high- and low-voltage systems to ensure safe, efficient operation.

Qualifications

• Qualified Electrician with a valid trade test certificate (NQF Level 3 or equivalent).
• Experience in industrial electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation is essential.
• Strong understanding of high-voltage systems, control circuits, and automation.

• Perform complex troubleshooting and repair of industrial electrical equipment, including motors, drives, PLCs, and control systems.
• Install, maintain, and repair high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems and associated equipment.
• Read and interpret complex electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and prevent failures.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with relevant electrical codes, safety standards, and regulations.
• Assist in the commissioning of new machinery and electrical systems.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, electrical faults, and parts inventory.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior electricians and maintenance personnel.
• Participate in safety audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Respond to urgent electrical breakdowns and ensure swift resolution to minimize production impact in Randburg.
• Work with automation systems and VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives).

Requirements

• Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, including power distribution, motor controls, PLC programming basics, and VFDs.
• Proficiency in using electrical diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Ability to read, interpret, and work from complex electrical schematics and blueprints.
• Experience with high-voltage systems and safety procedures is essential.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and adherence to electrical codes.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Must be able to work shifts and be on standby as required in the Randburg, Gauteng area.
