Job summary

AXIS Capital seeks an Insights & Analytics Lead – North America to turn business questions into high‑quality insights, analytical solutions and clear recommendations for underwriting teams. You will translate requirements for data, analytics, AI and data science, and partner with engineers, scientists and architects to design scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years’ experience in analytics, BI, data science or AI roles with hands-on data analysis.
• 3+ years’ experience in the insurance or reinsurance industry, ideally with underwriting, portfolio management or specialty insurance.
• Proven ability to translate ambiguous business problems into structured analytical/AI requirements.
• Experience delivering analytics products from discovery to adoption.
• Cross-functional, agile delivery collaboration with data engineering, AI engineering, data science, architecture and tech teams.
• Ability to communicate complex analysis to non-technical stakeholders with clear visuals and findings.
• Strong problem solving with practical business outcomes and commercial judgement.

Responsibilities

• Translate business needs into analytical and AI requirements for North American underwriting teams.
• Translate requirements into data, analytics, data science and AI specifications with success criteria.
• Propose appropriate approaches: descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, ML, generative AI or automation.
• Deliver hands‑on analysis and actionable insights.
• Frame questions, develop hypotheses, select methods and validate findings.
• Turn analysis into practical recommendations with business implications.
