Job summary

AXIS Capital is seeking an experienced analytics/AI professional to translate business needs into data-driven solutions for underwriting and portfolio management. You will partner with North American teams to define objectives, develop hypotheses, and deliver value through descriptive, predictive, and AI-enabled insights.

Be in the office 3 days per week in New York, collaborating with data engineers, AI engineers, and product owners in a cross-functional agile setup.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of analytics, BI, data science or AI experience with hands-on data work.
• 3+ years in insurance or reinsurance, partnering with underwriting or portfolio mgmt.
• Translate ambiguous problems into structured analytical requirements.
• Experience delivering analytics products from discovery to adoption.
• Cross-functional agile delivery with data engineering, AI engineering and architecture.

Responsibilities

• Translate business needs into analytical and AI requirements.
• Collaborate with underwriting and business teams to define objectives and success metrics.
• Prototype analytical/AI solutions to test feasibility and value.
• Work with data scientists/AI engineers to support model development and deployment.
• Ensure solutions are explainable and aligned with governance and security policies.
• Communicate findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders and drive practical actions.
