Job summary

CHRISTUS Health seeks an Inpatient Coder to maintain ICD-10-CM/PCS coding for inpatient encounters with 95%+ accuracy. You will abstract data into CHRISTUS Health EMR systems and collaborate with HIM and Clinical Documentation teams to support accurate billing and reduce denials.

Role requires 3–5 years inpatient coding experience, AHIMA standards, and proficiency with Epic, Meditech, 3M/360 and Office tools; remote work is supported.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent years of experience required.
• Accredited Health Informatics or Health Information Management degree or AHIMA approved Coding Certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assign codes for diagnoses, treatments and procedures according to ICD-10-CM/PCS guidelines to generate MS/APR DRG.
• Extract and abstract required information from source documentation into the CHRISTUS Health EMR system.
