Job summary

The Valley Health System is seeking a skilled Health Information coder to prepare statistical reports and code diseases and procedures across inpatient and outpatient settings. Responsible for maintaining coding indices and adhering to established policies.

Qualified candidates will have RHIA/RHIT or CCS credentials, 3+ years of acute care coding experience, and strong knowledge of ICD-9-CM/CPT coding, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.

Qualifications

• ACUTE INPATIENT EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• Education: RHIA or RHIT from AHIMA approved program preferred
• Minimum 3 years recent Inpatient and Outpatient coding experience
• Ability to crossover between IP, OP, ASC, ER and maintain 95% coding accuracy
• Credentialed as RHIT/RHIA or CCS required
• Demonstrated knowledge of coding procedures, extensive reimbursement system knowledge, medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology

Responsibilities

• Responsible for preparing statistical reports, coding diseases and operations according to accepted classification systems and maintaining indices according to established policies and procedures.
