Job summary

FusionHCR is seeking an experienced Inpatient Coder to deliver expert coding of inpatient medical records, supporting accurate reimbursement, data integrity, and regulatory reporting.

The role requires 3+ years in an acute‑care setting, CCS or RHIA certification, proficiency with ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS, and familiarity with 3M 360 or similar encoders.

Strong attention to detail, auditing, and communication with clinical teams are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years inpatient coding experience in an acute-care hospital setting.
• CCS or RHIA certification required.

Responsibilities

• Accurately code and abstract inpatient medical records.
• Review documentation for completeness, consistency, and coding accuracy.
• Identify coding discrepancies, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
• Review coding-related denials and perform appropriate follow-up.
• Perform data collection, manipulation, retrieval, and analysis.
• Run queries and prepare technical reports.
• Utilize 3M 360 or similar encoder systems.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
