Job summary

The Valley Health System in Southern Nevada seeks an experienced Health Information Coder with RHIA/RHIT or CCS certification. The role requires coding for inpatient, outpatient, and ambulatory surgery with 95% accuracy and ability to crossover between coding types.

Responsibilities include preparing statistical reports, maintaining indices, and contributing to a comprehensive reimbursement process within VHS’s expanding network across Las Vegas and surrounding hospitals.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years recent inpatient and outpatient coding experience.
• Ability to crossover between IP, OP, ASC, ER coding types.
• Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathology.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for preparing statistical reports, coding diseases and operations according to accepted classification systems and maintaining indices according to established policies and procedures.
