Job summary

The Valley Health System is seeking a Regional Coding Specialist to assist the Regional Coding Manager as the liaison between coders and the CBO, ensuring requests are processed promptly and accounts are released timely.

The role requires at least three years of acute care coding experience (inpatient and outpatient), CCS certification, and proficiency with Cerner, CPT, ICD-10-CM/PCS, and related imaging and encoding tools.

Qualifications

• High School diploma; higher education preferred.
• Minimum three years coding experience in acute care.
• Experience with inpatient and outpatient coding, auditing, and education.
• CCS certification required; RHIA or RHIT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Regional Coding Manager as liaison between coders and CBO to ensure timely processing of requests.
• Work to ensure accounts are released timely and any concerns are addressed for resolution.
