Valley Health System in Southern Nevada seeks a skilled Medical Coder with acute inpatient experience to code diseases and procedures (IP/OP/ASC/ER) per AHIMA standards. Requires RHIA/RHIT or CCS, with 3+ years of inpatient/outpatient experience. Excellent data accuracy and knowledge of ICD-9-CM/CPT coding needed.

Position supports continued education and offers comprehensive benefits and professional growth within VHS/UHS. Primarily on-site at Las Vegas area facilities.

Qualifications

• Acute inpatient experience is required.
• Minimum 3 years recent inpatient and outpatient coding experience.
• Ability to crossover between IP, OP, ASC, ER and maintain high coding accuracy.

• Prepare statistical reports and code diseases and operations according to classification systems.
• Maintain indices according to policies and procedures.
