Job summary

Moffitt Cancer Center in Florida is seeking a Hospital Inpatient Coder Senior to apply extensive ICD-10-CM/PCS coding knowledge to complex inpatient records, review documentation, and ensure accurate MS-DRG assignment.

The role also includes training new team members, supporting special projects, and ensuring compliance with CMS guidelines; minimum five years inpatient coding experience and professional certifications are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Five years inpatient hospital coding experience with ICD-10-CM/PCS and MS-DRG.
• Active professional certification (CCS, CPC, COC, CCS-P, RHIT, RHIA, CIC) or equivalent.
• Experience with coding oncology-related services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM diagnosis and ICD-10-PCS procedure codes for complex inpatient services.
• Review clinical documentation and query physicians as needed.
• Train and onboard new team members and support special projects.
• Ensure compliance with CMS guidelines, AHA coding clinic guidelines, MS-DRG/APDRG systems.
