Job summary

Qualifications

• Five years in hospital inpatient coding with ICD-10 and MS-DRG.
• Certification in CCS, CPC, COC, CCS-P, RHIT, RHIA, CIC or equivalent.
• Knowledge of CMS, AHA guidelines and inpatient coding guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM diagnosis and ICD-10-PCS procedure codes for inpatient services.
• Abstract data per national/regional policies and clarify documentation as needed.
• Serve as subject matter expert and assist less experienced staff.
