Job summary

TMCH in Tucson, AZ seeks inpatient facility coders to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT or HCPCS codes from medical records, ensuring compliant and accurate reimbursements for services.

Role requires a health information management background, five years of acute care coding experience, and relevant professional certifications. Knowledge of UHDDS, DRG/APC methods and hospital workflows is essential.

Qualifications

• Completion of 2-year Health Information Management program.
• Preferred is a 4-year HIM degree.
• RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CCS-P, CPC, CIC or COC certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assigns ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT or HCPCS codes based on documentation.
• Code inpatient or outpatient records; outpatient: min four codes independently.
• Follow coding guidelines to ensure accuracy and proper reimbursement.
• Utilize 3M 360, CAC, Epic and other applications for coding.
• Ensure staff documentation supports accurate coding and reimbursement.
• Assist physicians and staff with coding clarifications and DRG/APC questions.
• Maintain 95% coding accuracy and 95% weekly productivity.
