Job summary

Moldtronics, Inc. in Downers Grove, IL, is seeking an experienced Moldmaker responsible for building and repairing plastic injection molds from CAD models and blueprints.

You will operate Haas CNC mills, EDMs, and surface grinders, ensuring tight tolerances and high-quality molds. Responsibilities include creating Mastercam programs, interpreting engineering drawings, and collaborating with engineering and QA to troubleshoot issues and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of injection mold making and/or mold repair experience.
• Ability to read and interpret mold designs, blueprints, CAD models, tolerances, and engineering specifications.
• Experience with mills, lathes, surface grinders, and standard Tool Room equipment.
• CNC and CAD/CAM experience required.

Responsibilities

• Build and repair plastic injection molds from CAD models, blueprints, and engineering specifications.
• Operate CNC mills, vertical mills, sinker/orbital EDM machines, and surface grinders.
• CNC machine precision parts and components to specification.
• Create programs using Mastercam and read technical drawings with accuracy.
• Perform quality inspections using precision measuring equipment.
• Troubleshoot tooling and part-quality issues with engineering and production teams.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of mold design and manufacturing processes.
