Job summary

Moldtronics, Inc. in Downers Grove, IL is seeking an experienced mold maker/molder to join our precision manufacturing team.

You will build and repair plastic injection molds from CAD models and blueprints, and operate CNC mills, EDMs, and surface grinders to tight tolerances. You’ll read drawings, write Mastercam programs, and collaborate with engineering and production to troubleshoot tooling and improve processes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of injection mold making and/or mold repair experience.
• Ability to read and interpret mold designs, blueprints, CAD models, tolerances, and engineering specifications.
• CAD/CAM and Mastercam proficiency; experience with surface grinders and EDM preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build and repair plastic injection molds from CAD models, blueprints, and engineering specifications.
• Operate CNC mills, vertical mills, sinker/orbital EDM machines, and surface grinders.
• CNC machine precision parts and components to specification.
• Create your own programs using Mastercam.
• Read and interpret blueprints, CAD models, and technical drawings with accuracy.
• Perform quality inspections using precision measuring equipment.
• Troubleshoot tooling and part-quality issues in collaboration with engineering and production teams.
• Assist with other related duties as required or assigned.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of mold design and manufacturing processes.
