Join a Team That Builds What Others ImagineAt Moldtronics, Inc.—a privately held contract manufacturer in Downers Grove, Illinois—we’ve been crafting high‑precision solutions since 1955. Our customers span aerospace, defense, medical, agriculture, IoT, and commercial markets, and they rely on us for custom injection molding, mold making, CNC machining, and end‑to‑end manufacturing.Day in the LifeYou’ll start your morning reviewing CAD models and blueprints alongside engineering. By mid‑day, you’re at the controls of Haas CNC mills or on the sinker/orbital EDM, machining precision components that bring a new plastic injection mold to life. In the afternoon, you’re inspecting tight‑tolerance work, fitting and assembling tooling, and collaborating with production and quality to troubleshoot part performance. You’ll wrap up by refining a Mastercam program and noting a design tweak that will make the next build even better. What You’ll DoBuild and repair plastic injection molds from CAD models, blueprints, and engineering specificationsOperate CNC mills, vertical mills, sinker/orbital EDM machines, and surface grindersCNC machine precision parts and components to specificationCreate your own programs using MastercamRead and interpret blueprints, CAD models, and technical drawings with accuracyPerform quality inspections using precision measuring equipmentTroubleshoot tooling and part-quality issues in collaboration with engineering and production teamsAssist with other related duties as required or assignedContribute to continuous improvement of mold design and manufacturing processesWhat You Bring5+ years of injection mold making and/or mold repair experienceThe ability to build plastic injection molds using mold designs, CAD models, blueprints, and engineering drawingsStrong knowledge of injection mold construction, operation, maintenance, and repairAbility to read and interpret mold designs, blueprints, CAD models, tolerances, and engineering specificationsExperience with mills, lathes, surface grinders, and standard Tool Room equipmentStrong precision machining, fitting, inspection, and troubleshooting skillsExperience working to close tolerances using precision measuring equipmentCNC experience requiredCAD/CAM experience requiredAbility to work independently or with a teamCompensation & Schedule$30.00–$45.00 per hour, depending on experience and skills.Full-timeMonday–Friday7:00 AM–4:00 PMOn-site in Downers Grove, IllinoisOvertime may be available based on production needsBenefitsMoldtronics offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:Medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug coverageHealth Savings Account (HSA)401(k) with company matchCompany-paid basic life insuranceDisability insurance10 Paid holidaysPaid time offEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Employee referral programCore ProficienciesMechanical Troubleshooting SkillsManual Machining SkillsTool/Die/Mold Repair SkillsInjection Molding ExperienceBlueprint ReadingClose-Tolerance MachiningCNC MachiningEDM MachiningInjection Mold DesignInjection Mold Making / Mold MakingMold Building / Mold ConstructionMold Fitting & AssemblyMold TroubleshootingEquipment & TechnologiesCNC Mill (3-4 axis VMC) (Haas)Surface Grinder (Okamoto)CNC Lathe (2-4 axis) (Haas)Manual Vertical Mill (Bridgeport)CAD Software (Solidworks)CAM Software (Mastercam)CNC Lathe (2–4 Axis)EDM – Sinker EDMEqual OpportunityMoldtronics, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
