Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a Senior Counsel, Commercial (Infrastructure) in San Francisco to lead commercial strategy and risk for infrastructure transactions. You will draft and negotiate complex agreements with suppliers, manufacturers, and technology partners, and shape procurement frameworks for rapid infrastructure deployment.

You should bring a JD and CA license, 8+ years in technology transactions, and a track record from in-house or top-tier firms, with strong cross-border and regulatory

Qualifications

• 8+ years of legal experience focused on technology transactions and commercial contracting.
• In-house and top-tier law firm background preferred.
• Experience advising on cross-border and regulatory frameworks beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Own commercial legal strategy and risk management for infrastructure transactions.
• Draft, negotiate, and advise on complex agreements with suppliers and partners.
• Support strategic partnerships involving AI infrastructure and hardware supply chains.
• Develop procurement, licensing, and collaboration frameworks for the ecosystem.
• Collaborate with finance, operations, policy, and regulatory teams.
