Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a senior infrastructure transactions lawyer to lead commercial strategy and execution across our AI infrastructure portfolio. This hybrid role, based in San Francisco, collaborates with procurement, supply chain, partnerships, finance, and product teams to structure, negotiate, and manage essential infrastructure transactions.

The ideal candidate has 12+ years of technology transactions experience, a JD licensed in California, in-house and top‑tier firm background, and

Qualifications

12+ years of legal experience focusing on technology transactions and commercial contracting.
JD and CA license to practice in California.
Experience in both in-house and top-tier law firms.
Expertise negotiating infrastructure agreements.
Familiarity with global supply chains and manufacturing transactions.
Ability to operate with autonomy in fast-moving environments.
Excellent communication and ability to distill complexity into actionable guidance.

Responsibilities

Own commercial legal strategy and risk management for OpenAI infrastructure transactions.
Draft, negotiate, and advise on complex infrastructure agreements with suppliers and partners.
Support strategic partnerships involving AI infrastructure and hardware supply chains.
Develop procurement, licensing, and collaboration frameworks across the infrastructure ecosystem.
Partner with finance and operations to align contract terms with business and compliance.
Collaborate with policy and regulatory teams on global supply chain issues.
Build scalable contracting processes to support rapid infrastructure development.
