Peraton Labs, Inc. is seeking a poly cleared Senior Infrastructure Software Engineer to join our on-site team near College Park, MD.

You will develop and maintain software underpinning advanced research environments, integrating capabilities, improving reliability, and enabling rapid prototyping through disciplined software engineering practices. The role requires hands-on work in a highly secure setting, collaboration with researchers and engineers, and the ability to drive solutions

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience with CS degree or equivalent; or 4+ with a Masters; or 2+ with a PhD.
• Software development in complex, integrated environments.
• Strong Python and at least one of C/C++, Java, or Go.
• Familiar with secure development practices in restricted environments.
• Experience with Git/GitHub/GitLab, Agile, and CI pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Develop and sustain research infrastructure software for complex systems.
• Integrate software into new/modified environments ensuring performance and maintainability.
• Contribute across design, implementation, testing, and deployment of prototype and operational software.
• Build automation, tooling, and CI/CD workflows to speed development and reliability.
• Work in Linux-based environments, with scripting and OS/application troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with researchers to rapidly iterate prototypes and move to production.
• Support networked systems and software interacting with networking stacks and data flows.
• Interface with customer stakeholders to coordinate priorities and progress.
• Direct subcontractor tasks and ensure integration and quality standards.
• Produce design notes, build/deploy instructions, test evidence, and runbooks.
