Job summary

Peraton is seeking a poly cleared Senior Infrastructure and Systems Administrator to support a government customer in Maryland. The role focuses on implementing, maintaining, and securing complex research infrastructure environments, with hands‑on Linux and Windows administration and virtualization capabilities.

The position is full‑time, on‑site near College Park, MD, requiring US citizenship and an active TS/SCI with polygraph.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree or 10+ years with alternative education.
• Strong experience with Linux and Windows server administration.
• Experience securing and troubleshooting enterprise or research infrastructure environments.
• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper‑V/KVM/Proxmox/OpenStack).
• Experience applying security baselines, patching, vulnerability remediation, and endpoint protection updates.
• Ability to support backup, recovery, logging, audit, and maintenance procedures.
• US Citizenship is required; active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph required.

Responsibilities

• Implement, maintain, and enhance classified and unclassified research infrastructure systems.
• Perform Linux and Windows server administration including patching and hardening.
• Configure and troubleshoot IT, networking, compute, storage, and lab hardware/software.
• Build and maintain OS images for Linux and Windows environments.
• Support virtualization and infrastructure platforms (VMware, Proxmox, Hyper‑V, KVM, OpenStack).
• Maintain security posture with patching, antivirus updates, and configuration management.
• Coordinate infrastructure work with government customer, researchers, engineers, and program leadership.
