Job summary

Peraton Labs is seeking a poly cleared Senior Infrastructure Software Engineer to join our infrastructure team supporting advanced R&D at a customer site near College Park, MD. You will develop and maintain software underpinning complex research environments, integrating capabilities into new or modified systems to improve reliability and enable rapid prototyping.

The role involves hands-on work in a secure environment, collaboration with researchers and engineers, and end-to-end solution

Qualifications

6+ years of experience with a Bachelor, 4+ years with a Master, or 2+ years with a Ph.D. in CS or related.
Experience building and integrating applications/services in complex environments.
Strong hands-on Python and at least one of C/C++, Java, or Go.
Familiarity with secure development practices in restricted environments.
Experience with Git, Agile, and CI tooling such as Jenkins.
Strong problem-solving and fast learning in research settings.
Active TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph is required.

Responsibilities

Develop and sustain research infrastructure software for complex systems.
Integrate existing software into new or modified systems and environments.
Contribute through design, implementation, testing, verification, and deployment.
Build automation, tooling, and CI/CD workflows to accelerate development and reliability.
Work in Linux-based development and runtime environments with scripting and troubleshooting.
Collaborate with researchers to prototype and transition solutions toward operations.
Interface with customer stakeholders to coordinate priorities and progress.
Monitor subcontractor tasking and ensure integration and quality standards.
