Job summary

Verizon is seeking an Engineer IV for the GN&T Network Security Jumphosts function. The role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining a centralized Jumphost platform to support network teams while ensuring security fundamentals are applied at scale.

The ideal candidate has deep networking/security knowledge, Linux expertise, and proven leadership within a large organization. Hybrid work with location flexibility is offered, with a standard 40-hour week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Deep knowledge of networking and network security.
• Security/IT/Networking experience.
• Strong knowledge of Linux environment.
• Experience planning, building, and running network security solutions.
• Proven leadership skills and business acumen within a large organization.
• Experience building relationships across business units.

Responsibilities

• Design & Architecture: translate complex business requirements into functional specs and designs.
• Platform Implementation: build and maintain a highly available Jumphost platform for reliability and continuity.
• Subject Matter Expertise: act as technical SME across Network Security and business units.
• Deployment & Integration: deploy, configure, and validate new hardware and software.
• Performance Monitoring: track KPIs and ensure scalability and resiliency.
