Job summary

Penske Logistics is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to design, implement, and support our enterprise infrastructure. The role covers Windows and Linux server administration, virtualization, storage, cloud integration, and disaster recovery across on‑prem and cloud environments.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in infrastructure, strong scripting skills, and experience with VMware vSphere, Nutanix AHV, and Dell EMC storage. Onsite, Beachwood, OH; occasional after-hours support may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in IT/CS/Engineering preferred.
• 5+ years in systems engineering, infrastructure administration, or enterprise IT support.
• 2–3 years leading or supporting mid-to-large infrastructure projects.
• Strong experience with Windows Server and Linux OS (RHEL/Ubuntu).
• Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere/Nutanix AHV/Hyper-V).
• Experience with Dell EMC, SAN/NAS, and fiber channel infrastructure.
• Experience with AD/DNS/DHCP/GP and IAM concepts.
• Cloud or hybrid infrastructure experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support Windows and Linux server environments.
• Manage virtualization platforms: VMware vSphere, Nutanix AHV, Hyper-V.
• Support Dell EMC storage, SAN/NAS, fiber channel infrastructure.
• Design and maintain highly available virtual infrastructure.
• Monitor health, performance, and capacity; ensure security best practices.
• Implement automation with PowerShell, PowerCLI, Bash, or Python.
• Lead infrastructure projects from planning to implementation.
• Develop project plans, risk assessments, and status reporting.
• Collaborate with teams and vendors; maintain documentation.
