Job summary

Apex Technology Corporation is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to design, scope, and deliver complex IT infrastructure projects for managed services clients. You will lead project engineering from design through implementation, writing technical scopes and serving as the senior authority across Microsoft, networking, and systems environments.

You will mentor engineers, drive standardization, and act as escalation for the most challenging issues, while ensuring projects meet scope, timelines,

Qualifications

• 10+ years IT experience in systems/network engineering or infrastructure delivery
• Deep hands-on expertise with Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, and Hyper-V
• Strong Microsoft 365 and Azure administration incl. Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Intune, Azure AD
• Advanced networking: routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, WAN/LAN, firewall configurations
• Experience designing and delivering complex infrastructure projects end-to-end
• Experience writing technical scopes, project plans, or statements of work
• Effective communication to technical and executive audiences
• Mentoring or developing junior staff
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT or related field; equivalent experience
• Valid driver’s license and travel to client sites

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer complex IT infrastructure solutions tailored to client environments
• Lead solution design across Microsoft server environments, virtualization, Azure, networking, and security
• Architect WAN/LAN infrastructure, firewall configurations, VPN, and network security implementations
• Lead end-to-end delivery of infrastructure projects from kickoff to completion
• Create detailed project scopes and maintain IT Glue documentation
• Mentor and develop Network/Systems Engineers and Service Desk staff
• Log work in ConnectWise and ensure SLAs are met
• Collaborate with PM, Account Manager, and vCIO for project success
