Whatnot is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to own the network path from edge to service mesh, ensuring speed, reliability, and security by default. You’ll work with Reliability and Platform Engineering to instrument every layer of a request and make the network measurable and debuggable within minutes.

This hands-on role emphasizes building controllers, extensions, and automation, with a clear bar: engineers shouldn’t need to think about the network layer you own.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, preferably networking behind high-traffic apps.
• 3+ years hands-on with Istio and Envoy, with deep config surface knowledge.

Aufgaben

• Own the path between Whatnot's customers and our code across edge, DNS, private connectivity, service mesh, TLS, and internal access.
• Instrument every layer of a request and surface signals in existing tooling for rapid debugging.
• Design for failure cases and build tooling to make dangerous changes hard and rehearsed before production.
