Job summary

APM Terminals is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to lead enterprise-scale infrastructure initiatives in Mobile, Alabama. You will architect, implement, and optimize compute, storage, virtualization, and cloud platforms, partnering with cross-functional teams to drive reliability and security.

The role emphasizes modernization, automation, and IT resilience in a global terminal operations context. The position offers on-site work in Mobile with opportunities to influence technology

Qualifications

• Experience designing and supporting enterprise virtualization environments (VMware, Nutanix).
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Proven ability to lead complex technical projects and influence stakeholders.
• Fluent English; Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and architect enterprise-scale infrastructure solutions across virtualization, compute, storage, backup, and cloud environments.
• Lead complex infrastructure projects from planning through implementation, including risk management and stakeholder engagement.
• Provide expert-level troubleshooting and serve as the final escalation point for critical infrastructure incidents.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure standards, technology roadmaps, and modernization strategies.
• Implement automation and Infrastructure-as-Code to improve scalability and efficiency.
• Drive security, compliance, disaster recovery, and business continuity across platforms.
• Mentor engineers and promote knowledge sharing and best practices.
