Job summary

Maersk is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer in Mobile, Alabama to design and mature enterprise-scale infrastructure across virtualization, compute, storage, backup, and cloud environments. You will lead projects, manage risk, and drive automation and security enhancements to ensure reliability and continuity.

The role requires deep experience with VMware/Nutanix, AWS, and infrastructure security, with on-site work in Mobile.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and supporting enterprise virtualization environments (VMware and Nutanix).
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Proven ability to lead complex technical projects and influence stakeholders across multiple functions.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure security, resilience, HA, DR, and business continuity.

Responsibilities

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our Infrastructure team in Mobile, Alabama. In this role, you will serve as a senior technical authority responsible for designing, architecting, implementing, and optimizing enterprise-scale infrastructure solutions that support critical terminal operations. You will lead modernization initiatives across compute, virtualization, cloud, storage, and infrastructure platforms while partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to drive reliability, security, and continuous improvement. • Fluent English communication skills are required; Spanish is considered a plus.
• Curiosity, analytical thinking, and a proactive approach to researching and resolving technical challenges.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Location: Mobile, Alabama, United States (100% On-site)

Work Schedule: Typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

On-Call Expectations: Participation in on-call support as needed; critical events are infrequent

Salary Range: USD $90,000 to $110,000 annual base salary
