Job summary

Flexion Robotics in San Francisco is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build and scale our infrastructure platforms for our growing autonomy stack. You will own end-to-end backend tooling, APIs, and deployment systems, collaborating with research, robotics and deployment teams.

The role emphasizes design, testing, documentation and reliability, with opportunities to influence architecture and contribute to AI development tooling.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Software Engineering with significant professional software experience.
• Experience owning production software projects end-to-end and influencing decisions across teams.
• Proficiency in Python and at least one compiled language (C++, Go, Rust).
• Strong architecture skills for modular, scalable systems; data structures and algorithms.

Responsibilities

• Build tooling and platforms for robots and deployments (APIs, SDKs) used by customers.
• Lead projects end-to-end from scoping to ownership and rollout.
• Shape technical direction via design and code reviews across teams.
• Collaborate with research, robotics and deployment teams to translate needs into platforms.
• Improve engineering practices: testing, documentation, reliability.
