Job summary

IPolarity LLC is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Technical Writer to produce internal support documentation for enterprise-class infrastructure and cloud platforms.

The role collaborates with Windows, Unix, and Cloud engineers to publish HTML knowledge articles and MS Word guides, and to host WebEx sessions for Operations Support teams. You will map strategies with project managers and contribute to a centralized documentation team.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree, preferably in Computer Science or English.
• Ten years minimum experience producing technical documentation, preferably in systems/hardware and data center infrastructure IT.
• Working knowledge of infrastructure server farms, network protocols, firewall security, monitoring, WAN/LAN configurations.
• Strong Visio diagramming skills/experience.
• Excellent written and verbal skills; able to build rapport with engineers to produce comprehensive documentation.
• Experience hosting WebEx sessions, large and small.
• Knowledge of documentation standards and processes; collaboration with peers to refine them.
• Hands-on experience with ServiceNow Knowledge Base module is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Research and analyze requirements for new infrastructure environment builds; study proposed data center and cloud solutions.
• Create and maintain complex Visio diagrams illustrating transaction patterns, connectivity, and components.
• Work with project managers to map out documentation strategies and schedules.
• Collaborate with Windows, Unix, Cloud, Network, Security, SQL DB, and Monitoring engineers to gather build information.
• Author and publish documentation for online HTML knowledgebase and MS Word infrastructure guides.
• Host WebEx documentation turnover sessions for Operations Support teams.
• Participate in peer reviews and share best practices within a large documentation team.
