Job summary

SoftBank Group International is seeking an Infrastructure Counsel to advise on development, construction, operation and commercial aspects of power generation, data center, and related infrastructure projects.

You will draft, review, and negotiate project agreements, collaborating with development, engineering, procurement, finance, real estate, regulatory, and operations teams to address legal, regulatory, and contractual issues affecting project execution.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active bar membership in NY, TX, or CA.
• 7+ years of relevant legal experience advising on infrastructure, energy, data center, construction, or related matters.
• Proven experience drafting and negotiating complex project, development, construction, procurement, services, or other infrastructure related agreements.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional project teams and managing multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate agreements supporting development, construction, operation, and commercial execution of infrastructure projects (including development, construction, engineering, procurement, capital equipment, vendor, services, financing, etc.).
• Draft, review, and negotiate power- and utility-related agreements (power purchase, interconnection, energy storage, water supply, etc.).
• Draft, review, and negotiate infrastructure-related commercial agreements for AI workloads (cloud, colocation, data center leases, networking, SLAs).
• Identify and manage legal, regulatory, and operational risks across project lifecycles; advise on diligence, milestones, and scope changes.
• Coordinate site-related matters (land acquisitions, leases, easements, permitting, zoning) with internal and outside counsel.
• Advise on infra-related legal issues and AI infrastructure strategy across multiple teams; support timely decision-making.
• Create and maintain contract forms, templates, playbooks, and response processes for recurring arrangements.
• Monitor applicable laws (California, U.S., international) affecting AI infrastructure; embed compliance in contracts.
