Job summary

SB Energy, a SoftBank Group company, is seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design for data center projects. You will guide power distribution, backup systems, and critical infrastructure, while mentoring a team of engineers.

The role requires 8–12+ years experience in data centers or large-scale projects. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to deliver safe, efficient, and compliant solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET preferred).
8–12+ years in electrical engineering, data centers or large-scale projects.
Experience leading projects and mentoring engineers.
Strong knowledge of electrical power systems and back-up power.
Experience reviewing designs and coordinating with external partners.
Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar design tools.
Familiarity with NEC and industry standards.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Create and manage Electrical Engineering design standards for quality and cost-effectiveness.
Perform design reviews at milestones and coordinate internal approvals.
Provide technical guidance on electrical systems design, including distribution and backup power.
Review RFIs/RFPs/RFQs and submittals.
Advise on equipment selection and vendor lists.
Support O&M with technical knowledge and troubleshooting.
Design and manage datacenter white space, rack layout, containment, network, power, cables.
Collaborate with coloproviders and internal stakeholders for Basis of Design.
Develop data center facilities requirements documentation.
Research new designs and construction methods for electrical/mechanical equipment.
Participate in project coordination meetings and communicate scheduling updates.
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of electrical engineers.
