Job summary

SB Energy, a SoftBank Group company, invites a Director of Development Operations to lead late-stage development for AI data center and energy projects across the U.S. You will drive cross-functional collaboration from development through financing and handover to construction, ensuring budget adherence and timely delivery.

You will oversee financing due diligence, design reviews, site evaluations, and procurement strategies while guiding teams across multiple states in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 15+ years of professional work experience.
• Minimum 8 years of project management, development operations, or related roles in data center/energy.
• Data center experience required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead project management and internal operations through late-stage development to financing and handover to construction.
• Coordinate internal stakeholders across development, procurement, construction, finance, engineering, and more.
• Develop and report on project plan-of-record, including design basis, schedule, costs, spend, revenue, and risks.
• Lead financing due-diligence efforts for projects.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants on site evaluation, design options, and procurement strategies.
• Manage relationships with technical consultants, land experts, and surveyors.
• Develop and manage budgets and schedules, perform budget vs. actual analyses.
• Provide leadership to cross-functional project teams.
