Job summary

NorthMark Strategies LLC is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to design, build and run the corporate IT infrastructure that keeps our group companies productive and secure. You will lead complex projects, mentor junior engineers and raise engineering standards across the team.

You will work on hybrid cloud and on-premise environments, implement automation, and partner with security to embed best practices. This role emphasizes reliability, scalability, and proactive operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in an infrastructure engineering role with enterprise IT components.
• Strong proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Hands-on experience with VMware estates or alternative virtualization platforms.
• Experience with automation and DevOps tooling (Ansible, Python, Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Sound knowledge of IT security principles and practices; security by design.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with stakeholders.
• Experience delivering projects using Agile or similar methodologies.
• Collaborative mindset with willingness to mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy and maintain corporate infrastructure including servers, storage, domain services, cloud services and enterprise apps.
• Act as a senior technical authority, providing guidance, design reviews and mentorship.
• Contribute to the team’s technology strategy and roadmap; shape priorities.
• Evaluate and recommend technologies to improve reliability, security and efficiency.
• Lead infrastructure projects from design to handover, on time and within scope.
• Own complex incidents and perform root cause analysis for lasting fixes.
• Build disaster recovery and business continuity capabilities with regular testing.
• Drive automation and infrastructure-as-code to reduce manual work and improve consistency.
• Build security into designs and collaborate with security teams to meet requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver solutions aligned with business objectives.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation, standards and runbooks.
• Participate in on-call and out-of-hours support when required.
