Job summary

Western & Southern Financial Group is seeking an executive leader to direct the Information Security program, incl. risk management and IAM. The role requires building governance, policies, and cross-functional collaboration across IT and business units.

You will drive security strategy, ensure regulatory alignment (HIPAA/NAIC/NYS DFS), and lead incident remediation, audits, and budget management. Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information security, computer science, or information technology, or commensurate experience.
• Minimum of 10 years in management-level information security/IT roles.
• Experience developing information security policies and programs achieving excellence.
• Proven ability to influence groups to take action.
• Experience with complex programs and data analysis.
• Knowledge of NY DFS Cybersecurity, NAIC Data Security, and HIPAA.
• Strong verbal and written communication and leadership skills.
• Leadership experience in cross-functional teams; staffing and development.
• CISSP required; GSE, CISA, CRISC/CGEIT, Series 99 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directs Information Security Risk Management services across the enterprise with governance.
• Provides metrics and reporting on risk management effectiveness to senior leadership.
• Leads information security and risk management awareness training for staff and contractors.
• Oversees third-party vendor due diligence and escalations for risk reporting to executives.
• Develops and manages IAM strategy (directory services, SSO, MFA, IdM).
• Ensures policy, standards, and procedures across risk management and IAM.
• Manages budgets and monitors variances; supports DR/BC planning.
• Collaborates with IT and compliance to improve processes.
