Job summary

Old Republic Commercial Risk is seeking a Director of Information Security to design, implement, and operate a comprehensive security program across three affiliated companies. This hands-on leader will mentor a small team while engaging in day-to-day security operations and architecture, translating complex risks into clear business terms.

The role requires senior technical leadership, risk assessments, and GRC oversight, with collaboration across Legal, Compliance, and Audit to align security

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in information security, including leadership roles.
• Proven experience managing and mentoring small security teams.
• Strong hands-on technical expertise with Okta, Zscaler, Azure, Microsoft 365; Proofpoint, CrowdStrike, Splunk.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a small, highly technical information security team with hands-on support.
• Design, implement, and maintain security controls across identity, endpoint, network, cloud, and SaaS environments.
• Provide direct technical oversight for security incidents, investigations, and response activities.
• Ensure security posture and standards across three companies while accommodating business needs.
• Serve as SME and hands-on contributor for core security platforms (Okta, Azure AD, Zscaler, Microsoft 365, Proofpoint, CrowdStrike, Splunk).
• Partner with IT and engineering teams to securely design and deploy cloud and hybrid environments.
• Continuously improve security tooling, configurations, and detection capabilities.
• Lead enterprise security risk assessments and document information security risks.
• Communicate risk exposure and mitigation strategies to non-technical stakeholders.
