Job summary

Aether Aerospace is seeking an Information Assurance/Security Engineer III to design, implement, and manage security controls for DoD-focused networks and information systems. You will work on risk assessments, system security plans, and compliance initiatives in a remote-friendly environment.

Qualified candidates hold an active TS/SCI clearance and a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with several years of security experience, including vulnerability management, incident response, and policy

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, risk management frameworks, and compliance standards.
• Experience with vulnerability assessments, security testing, and mitigation strategies.
• Familiarity with security tools, firewalls, SIEM solutions, and system hardening techniques.
• Ability to analyze policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure security compliance.
• Proficiency in developing security documentation, including system security plans and risk assessments.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and integrating security requirements within business processes.
• Support certification and accreditation efforts, ensuring compliance with frameworks such as DIACAP, NIACAP, and NIST SP 800-37.
• Conduct security assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify and mitigate risks.
• Develop and complete system security plans and contingency plans.
• Perform security testing and compliance verification for network and system configurations.
• Implement security tools, monitor system integrity, and support incident response efforts.
• Analyze security policies and recommend enhancements to improve compliance and risk management.
• Conduct security audits and provide solutions to reduce identified risks.
• Assist in evaluating, developing, and enhancing security policies, tools, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Provide information assurance support for security architecture development and implementation.
