Job summary

Aether Aerospace is seeking a Cloud Architect to design, implement, and oversee cloud solutions aligned with DoD and national security needs. You will drive cloud strategy, adopt best practices, and lead secure, scalable deployments across IaaS and PaaS. Remote-first with preferred locations in Boston or Dayton.

The role requires TS/SCI clearance, 5–7 years in cloud architecture (or 3–5 with a Master’s), and relevant certifications. Extensive collaboration with cross-functional teams is expected.

Qualifications

• Clearance: Active TS/SCI.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 5–7 years in cloud architecture, or Master’s with 3–5 years.
• Certifications: AWS/Azure/Google cloud and security certs favored.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee the organization’s cloud computing strategy, including cloud adoption plans and architecture.
• Lead cloud implementation projects on IaaS and PaaS.
• Collaborate with Cloud Service Providers to design system architecture.
• Onboard new customers and system tenants with client-first service.
• Translate high-level requirements into detailed implementation specs.
• Provide assessments of current-state architecture and propose future-state improvements.
• Ensure cloud performance and security across remote servers.
