Job summary

Aether Aerospace is seeking an Information System Security Officer III to certify and accredit networks and systems per government standards. You will develop System Security Plans, oversee security operations, perform vulnerability assessments, and ensure regulatory compliance across life cycle.

You will collaborate with program managers and security engineers, implement controls per ICDs and NISPOM, and provide briefings to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of government security policies and standards, including NISPOM and ICDs.
• Experience developing and maintaining System Security Plans and compliance documents.
• Experience in certification and accreditation for classified and unclassified systems.
• Proficiency with Nessus, MBSA, and WASSP for security assessments.

Responsibilities

• Perform certification and accreditation of networks and standalone systems to standards.
• Develop and implement System Security Plans aligned with requirements.
• Oversee daily security operations for classified and unclassified systems.
• Conduct vulnerability testing and security assessments to verify controls.
• Collaborate with program managers and system security engineers across lifecycle.
• Implement security measures per ICDs, NISPOM, and regulations.
• Provide security briefings and training to staff and government officials.
• Manage compliance processes for all classified components and environments.
• Assist the ISSM in reporting incidents and corrective actions.
• Maintain procedures for handling and destroying classified media.
• Maintain proficiency with security assessment tools and governance practices.
• Support operations that improve processes and program quality.
• Ensure planned hours are tracked and reported.
