Job summary

MPI is seeking an experienced Industrial Superintendent to lead field operations on large-scale industrial construction projects across Northern New Jersey. You will oversee site safety, quality, schedule adherence, subcontractor management, and successful project delivery from groundbreaking through closeout.

The role requires a hands-on construction leader with a proven track record in industrial settings, strong OSHA knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple teams and tight schedules.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of construction supervision experience.
• 5+ years of experience leading industrial projects.
• Experience with warehouses, distribution centers, manufacturing facilities, cold storage facilities, fulfillment centers, or similar industrial developments.
• Strong knowledge of concrete, steel, sitework, utilities, tilt-wall construction, and MEP coordination.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple subcontractors and aggressive schedules.
• Thorough understanding of construction safety best practices and OSHA regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and CPM schedules.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with project management and field reporting software.

Responsibilities

• Lead all on-site construction activities for ground-up and expansion industrial projects.
• Manage project safety programs and enforce OSHA and company safety standards.
• Develop, maintain, and drive project schedules to meet critical milestones and turnover dates.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and field personnel to ensure efficient workflow.
• Conduct daily site meetings and communicate project progress with ownership, design teams, and project management.
• Review plans, specifications, and construction documents to identify and resolve field issues.
• Monitor quality control efforts and ensure workmanship meets project requirements.
• Track labor productivity and support budget management initiatives.
• Oversee inspections, testing, commissioning activities, and project closeout.
• Maintain accurate daily reports, logs, and project documentation.
• Proactively identify risks and implement solutions to mitigate schedule or cost impacts.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and operational excellence on every project.
