Job summary

The Planet Group is seeking a Manager of Building Structures, Industrial to lead a high-performing team across complex industrial projects in the manufacturing and life sciences sectors. This role serves as a technical authority for structural design, reviewing and signing critical documents and guiding project delivery.

Relocation support may be available. A PE license, 15+ years of structural experience, and proven leadership of engineering teams are required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering required.
Active Professional Engineer license required; state licensure expansion is expected.
15+ years of structural engineering experience, with industrial project exposure.
Minimum 3+ years of leading teams and delivering complex projects.
Strong knowledge of steel, concrete, foundations, slabs, and specialty structures.
Experience with structural analysis/design software (RISA/STAAD/Tekla Tedds).
Revit and AutoCAD proficiency preferred.
Ability to review, sign, and seal structural documents as required.
Excellent communication with clients and stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

Provide technical direction for structural design across industrial facilities.
Lead project delivery, timelines, and budgets with a high-performing team.
Mentor engineers and designers; elevate technical standards.
Collaborate with architecture, MEP, process engineering, and construction teams.
Engage with clients to manage relationships and project outcomes.
