County of Maui seeks a Safety Specialist II to plan, coordinate and execute comprehensive safety education programs for county employees and operating departments. The role includes developing supervisory training, promoting safety awareness, and reviewing accident reports to identify training needs.

Responsibilities also include conducting inspections and coordinating with insurers and officials to support safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Training and Experience: combination of education and three years of experience in industrial safety and accident prevention activities.
• License Requirement: Hawaii State driver's license (Type 3).
• Knowledge of industrial and construction accident hazards and methods of correction and prevention; safety devices and equipment; safety education media; inspection principles and procedures.

Responsabilités

• Plans, coordinates and executes an industrial safety education program.
• Develops and conducts safety training courses for supervisors and employees.
• Analyzes accident and hazard reports to identify training needs.
• Conducts safety inspections and prepares reports; liaises with insurers and officials.
• Supervises others in the execution of safety promotional and educational programs.
