County of Maui is seeking a Construction Inspector II to inspect county construction projects, including buildings and roadwork, for compliance with plans, specifications, and standards. The role requires journeyman level duties, review of plans, measurements, and coordination with supervisors.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent, and demonstrate strong inspection skills, record-keeping, and the ability to supervise subordinate inspectors when needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of plans and specifications for a variety of construction projects.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications and identify discrepancies.
• Capability to determine material quality and workmanship through inspection.
• Proficiency in making mathematical computations and keeping records.

Responsabilités

• Inspect County construction projects and related works for compliance with plans and standards.
• Check and document quality of materials, grades, and elevations.
• Conduct tests and measurements (slump tests, etc.) and prepare reports.
• Supervise inspection activities and coordinate with supervisors as needed.
• Maintain records of labor, equipment, and materials and review contractor payments.
