Job summary

The Weitz Company is seeking an Industrial Preconstruction Manager to be located in Cedar Rapids, IA. This role leads preconstruction services for medium to large industrial projects, coordinating with design teams, vendors, and operations to ensure profitable hand-offs and successful project delivery.

Candidates should have eight or more years in industrial estimating or project management, strong leadership and client-relations skills, and proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Timberline

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• A minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in extensive estimating and/or project management in industrial‑related construction.
• Proven history of leading, teaching, developing and mentoring others successfully.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Timberline Estimating and related software.
• Ability to evaluate and interpret technical drawings and communicate with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead preconstruction efforts to deliver cost and schedule forecasts for medium to large projects.
• Review and coordinate estimating, scheduling, strategy and communication across teams.
• Coordinate systems and schedules with trade partners, operations, and design/build teams to plan and budget for safety.
• Drive standardization of operating practices and reporting among business units.
• Maintain client relationships and ensure profitable project turnover to operations.
• Travel as required; lead preconstruction meetings and engage stakeholders as needed.
