Job summary

ExcelliSearch, Inc. is looking for a Lead Industrial Maintenance Technician to support a fast-paced food processing plant in Blue Island, IL.

You’ll work on mechanical and electrical systems, perform welding, and use SCADA/PLC/VFD tech to diagnose faults across a three-shift operation. The role requires comfort with hot environments, adherence to OSHA/LOTO rules, and coordination with the maintenance manager to prioritize work.

Qualifications

• Electrical experience with 480V three-phase systems required.
• Mechanical troubleshooting and repair experience in an industrial plant; food/chemical environments preferred.
• MIG and stick welding experience preferred.
• Exposure to SCADA, PLCs, or VFDs is a plus.
• CMMS experience preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements and LOTO.
• Comfortable working in a hot, physical plant environment without air conditioning.

Responsibilities

• Maintain mechanical and electrical systems across a three-shift food processing plant.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues (480V).
• Weld (MIG and stick), fabricate, and rig as needed.
• Install, align, and service pumps, conveyors, motors, gearboxes, screens, and tanks.
• Use SCADA, PLCs, VFDs, sensors, and instrumentation to troubleshoot faults.
• Complete PMs in CMMS and keep records accurate.
• Follow LOTO, confined space, hot work, and OSHA rules.
• Assist maintenance manager with planning and prioritizing work.
• Be a dependable on-shift resource when breakdowns occur.
