Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an experienced HVAC Designer to join our Building Mechanical team. You will perform field investigations, interface with clients and vendors, size and select equipment, and prepare construction design packages for heavy industrial clients.

You’ll manage the schedule and technical quality of complex engineering tasks, collaborate with a multi‑discipline team, and deliver cost‑effective, well‑designed HVAC systems. Ten years of experience and Revit proficiency are preferred.

Qualifications

• At least ten (10) years’ experience in the design of HVAC systems for industrial facilities.
• Proficiency in Revit.
• Thorough knowledge of codes and standards related to the design of HVAC systems.
• Adaptability to work within a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines.
• Ability to collaborate with the project team remotely.
• Ideally, You’ll Also Have: AutoCAD, Carrier HAP, Trane Trace 700, and Trane Trace 3D.
• Experience in the design of plumbing/utility systems.

Responsibilities

• Layout and design of HVAC systems.
• Development of conceptual design and preliminary design documents, including calculations for sizing and selecting systems, Air Flow Diagrams (AFDs), P&IDs, and general arrangements.
• Development of final construction documents for these systems (e.g., chilled water, cooling water).
• Coordination with other disciplines.
