Job summary

Twist Bioscience seeks a Sr Manager of Process Optimization & Industrial Engineering to drive continuous improvement across high-throughput manufacturing in an onsite role in Wilsonville, OR. You will apply IE methods to diagnose bottlenecks and lead cross-functional improvements with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Automation.

Ideal candidates bring strong analytical skills (OEE, Cpk, takt time) and experience in ISO 13485/GxP environments, delivering scalable, sustainable capacity

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial/Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering.
• 8–12+ years in industrial engineering, continuous improvement, or manufacturing process optimization.
• 3–5+ years in a supervisory or cross-functional leadership role.
• Experience in ISO 13485 or GxP-regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing line performance data to identify capacity constraints and bottlenecks.
• Investigate first pass rate losses and defect trends; lead root cause analysis with Quality and Manufacturing.
• Develop and prioritize a pipeline of improvement opportunities with ROI assessment.
• Build business cases and ROI models, including capital equipment requests.
• Design and implement process changes using IE tools and validate via pilots.
• Collaborate with Automation Engineering to scope equipment/automation opportunities.
• Right-size staffing models with Manufacturing and Workforce Planning.
• Establish and track KPIs to measure impact of improvements over time.
• Ensure changes comply with GxP and change control documentation.
• Present improvement roadmaps and results to leadership.
