Job summary

Polar Semiconductor, Inc. in Bloomington, MN, seeks a Manufacturing Capacity Engineer to continuously evaluate and improve production processes. You will ensure labor, equipment and processes are measured, controlled and optimized for capacity and efficiency.

Responsibilities include forecasting capacity, communicating performance, and driving continuous improvement with cross-functional teams. Strong data analysis and lean expertise required.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering plus related experience
• Experience in lean manufacturing and pull systems
• Good knowledge in capacity, productivity, manufacturing process and product costing
• Effective communicator-both verbally and written skills, with proven ability to work in a collaborative environment to achieve balanced business objectives
• Self-motivated and possess the ability to work independently
• Highly skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, and SQL skills desired

Responsibilities

• Engaged with the development, maintenance and communication of the capacity statement associated with the production plan and its future forecasts.
• Identify and communicate operational performance, highlighting operational achievements and shortcomings.
• Ability to collect, analyze, and communicate operational data to Engineering and Leadership Teams.
• Work with operators, equipment and process engineers to improve throughput and mitigate constraints.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities; reduce cycle time variation and improve production output.
• Improve scheduling systems to drive down costs and minimize interruptions while increasing throughput.
• Evaluate and improve manufacturing processes by ensuring labor, equipment and processes are measured and efficient.
• Understand process flow, lean manufacturing and labor interaction with material flow; reduce waste.
• Assist in manufacturing layout driving space utilization, logistics and workflow.
• Understand Manufacturing Metrics include OEE, Yield, and Cycle Time
